When can I take a hot shower after getting a tattoo?

I got my first tattoo 10 days ago. I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do (washing with Dial, applying Lubriderm, etc.) It's in the flaking stage, and I'm NOT picking at it. On the aftercare instructions it said no baths, swimming, and no hot showers. So I've been taking lukewarm showers. So how long do I have to wait before cranking up the shower temperature? I love my hot steamy showers!
