What are the chances of serving jail time for petit larceny?

As a criminal justice student i see it playing out this way... when hyou go to court and have your case at the most there will be a fine with some jail time to serve on weekends.... if not he may let you go easy with a probationary status. they may try shock treatment, meaning they say your going to jail for 6 months but they release after a few days to give you the hint, i doubt anything serious will come of this. get a decent lawyer and it can get played down easy.
