Nintendo DS Questions?

I want to get a Nintendo DS for Christmas, but is Nintendo coming out with any new portable video game system anytime soon? I don't want to get it if something better is going to come out soon after i get it. Another question, which color sells more the onyx black or the polar white? Thank You Very Much!
