WHY CAN'T I GET GOOD SOUND ON MY TOSHIBA NB305?

I'm operating this on windows 7 and have tried updating all the drivers & realtek and enabled the loudness equalizer but nothing seems to work. The sound is extremely faint with the volume all the way up. Does this thing just have crappy speakers or is there something i can do?
