I can understand hiding rants, obscenities, etc., but why delete other responses?

just because five more people give thumbs down than give a thumbs up. I think all responses that fit community guidelines should be left alone . . . including the ones I disagree with. Right now, I don't feel free to indicate my disagreement because it may deny someone a voice.
